Due to HVAC Mechanical Issues, Monrovia City Hall will be closed for the remainder of the day on Monday, August 24. The Monrovia Community Center, Library, Public Works, and Police & Fire Station will remain open.

Extreme Heat Watch

An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect from August 25, at 10 a.m., through August 28, at 8 p.m. During the heat, please take the following precautions: 

• Drink plenty of water and keep hydrated throughout the day.
• If you must go out, plan your day to avoid going out during the hottest hours and wear sunscreen.
• Cars get very hot. Never leave children or pets in cars and call 911 if you see a child or pet in a car alone.
• Beware of heat-related illness, like heat stroke, and call 911 if you see these symptoms: high body temperature, vomiting, and pale and clammy skin.
• Check on those at risk, like those who are sick, older adults, pregnant women, and children.

Stay Cool at the Monrovia Community Center & Public Library

Those looking for a place to stay cool are encouraged to visit the Community Center or the Public Library to avoid the heat.

The Monrovia Community Center has a limited number of fans available for residents to borrow. Those interested in borrowing a fan or can find additional information by calling (626) 256-8246.
