The Gas Company - Distribution Riser Inspection Program

Southern California Gas Company conducting ongoing inspections and maintenance in Monrovia area currently and through 2018.

Southern California Gas Company officials announced that the utility, which provides natural gas to Los Angeles County residents, is continuing its ongoing program of inspecting gas meters and risers (metal pipes rising from the ground that are connected to the meters), which began in early 2013. Southern California Gas Company is examining the condition of the gas pipes from the ground to the shut-off valves at residences and businesses throughout the Los Angeles communities.

Los Angeles communities where inspections and maintenance are currently ongoing include Monrovia, Arcadia, and Sierra Madre. They began working in these areas in March and expect to be finished in 2018.

Southern California Gas Company or its contractor AM Ortega Company may be visiting customers to let them know the inspections are taking place. In some cases, they may leave a letter to let customers know they are doing the work. If they cannot access the property, they will leave a door tag with information.
