The Monrovia Measure K Citizen Advisory Committee is a five-member committee established by the City Council whose main responsibilities include monitoring the revenues and expenditures from the 0.75% local sales tax increase approved by voters on November 5, 2019.
The City Council appointed the original Citizen Advisory Committee members on January 7, 2020. The most recently-appointed Committee Members, whose term began on July 1, 2024 are active through June 30, 2028. Committee members are appointed for a 4-year term. All positions are volunteer and receive no compensation.
The Monrovia Measure K Citizen Advisory Committee meets at least annually to:
- Receive and comment on annual reports from City staff each fiscal year on revenues and expenditures from the sales tax, and
- Review and comment on annual spending plans prepared by City staff.
