City of Monrovia
Home MenuPlanning Commission
The Planning Commission is comprised of seven Monrovia residents appointed by the City Council for a three year term. All positions are volunteer and receive no compensation. An elected official of the City may not serve on an advisory body concurrent with their elected term, and a Commissioner may serve on only one advisory body at a time.
The Commission oversees new development in the City to ensure that it complies with the City's General Plan and Zoning Ordinance and has the authority to approve conditional use permits, variances, parcel maps and hillside development permits. As an advisory body to the City Council, they review and make recommendations on applications for tract maps, amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance and the General Plan.
Agendas and staff reports are generally posted online a Thursday prior to their regular meeting date and are available using the "Agenda/Minutes" link on the ribbon above. Minutes are posted after they are adopted by the Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission meets on the Wednesday following the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 415 South Ivy Avenue. For more information, please call (626) 932-5565 or email planning@monroviaca.gov
