To assist Monrovia residents located in the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone with brush clearance disposal, the City has partnered with Athens Services to provide roll-off bins free of charge until July 31, 2026.

 

Things to consider before placing an order:

• Please allow 3 business days for a response from Athens (same-day request is unavailable).
• 1 bin at a time for 7 days max.
• Athens has limited weekend availability. Saturday - until 12 p.m.; Sunday - not available.

To avoid contamination of the Roll of Bins, please carefully review the items that are not allowed in the bin:

Non-Acceptable Items: Diseased plants, treated wood, palm fronds, succulents, yucca, cacti, dirt, stones, gravel, sand, food waste, paint, bamboo, rocks, concrete, cement, asphalt, blacktop, tile, stucco, composition roofing, heavy building/construction debris, liquids, hazardous materials, electrical/automobile parts, animal carcasses.

Important Notes: Place palm fronds in the trash. They are too fibrous and wiry to be composted. Place succulents, yucca, and cacti in the trash. These items require extended time to break down and can propagate new growth when found in compost. The maximum weight limit for any roll-off bin is 10 tons. Fees may be subject by Athens if bins cannot be hauled as scheduled due to issues such as over-height, overweight, or if the dumpster is blocked.
