Improving Connectivity Between Old Town and Transit
The City is working on a project that will enhance bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure on Central Avenue, Evergreen Avenue, and Magnolia Avenue. These improvements will enhance pedestrian and cyclists' ability to cross to 210 freeway and travel to/from Old Town and the Monrovia A Line Station.

SAFE STREETS AND ROADS FOR ALL
Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) and Bicycle Master Plan (BMP) Update Approved May 5, 2026
On May 5, 2026, the Monrovia City Council adopted a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan and Bicycle Master Plan Update! These documents are geared toward enhancing roadway safety, connectivity, and accessibility for all users. To learn more about the project, visit our Safe Streets for All Program site.

The City contracts with Athens Services for weekly street sweeping services. As a reminder, Athens Services observes the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. If any of the holidays fall on a weekday, street sweeping for Commercial areas shall be postponed to the following week on the regularly scheduled day.

Street sweeping may be canceled without advanced notice in the event of inclement weather, natural disaster, or other emergencies. Residents can contact Public Works at (626) 932-5575 on the day of their scheduled street sweeping for updates.

STREET LIGHTS
Street lights may be owned and maintained by either the City or Southern California Edison (SCE). The easiest way to distinguish the two is by the pole material: streetlights on wooden poles usually belong to SCE and streetlights on concrete poles are City-owned.
To report a street light that is off or flickering, please contact either Public Works or SCE. Be sure to provide the location, pole number, and ownership of the light when submitting a report.
