The City hosted a final community outreach on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
These plans are the result of data analysis and community input over the past several months, and we are grateful to everyone who participated by attending meetings, completing surveys, and sharing valuable insights about transportation and mobility in Monrovia. We look forward to continuing the conversation and working together to make Monrovia’s streets safer and well- connected for all!
Project Overview
The City of Monrovia is developing a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) and updating its 2018 Bicycle Master Plan to enhance roadway safety, connectivity, and accessibility for all users. The CSAP was created in alignment with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Program.
The CSAP aims to reduce serious injuries and fatalities by identifying data-driven strategies that improve conditions for pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, public transit riders, and commercial operators.
The Bicycle Master Plan Update will build upon the City’s existing cycling infrastructure by assessing progress since 2018, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements to create a safer and more connected network for riders of all ages and abilities.
Both efforts will incorporate best practices, stakeholder input, equity considerations, and environmental factors to ensure a safer, more accessible transportation system for the Monrovia community.
How You Can Get Involved
Public Participation is key to the success of both plans. We encourage residents, commuters, and business owners to share their experiences, challenges, and ideas for making Monrovia’s streets safer and more bike-friendly.
From late April to September 30, 2025, we collected feedback through a community survey. We also hosted three community outreach meetings. The meeting recordings and slides are available below.
Now, we're finalizing the draft plans. Send us your comments by April 10, 2026 to make sure your feedback is captured!
If you would like to be included in email updates, please reach out to ssousa@monroviaca.gov.
