Monrovia Public Works - Project Updates

The City of Monrovia, Public Works Department oversees street maintenance, public utilities, and other infrastructure projects to provide residents and community members with a premiere quality of life. Below are updates on current projects the City is performing, and information regarding traffic and other impacts. Huntington Drive Improvements Project

Background on the Project: The City approved the Huntington Drive Street Repair project in September 2025. The Project includes the following improvement of Huntington Drive:

Pothole repairs from Magnolia Ave to Shamrock Ave
ADA ramp upgrades
Sidewalk repairs
Curb and Gutter Repairs
High Visibility Crosswalks
Improvements to street signage
Upgrade streetlights to LED from Fifth Ave to Mountain Ave
Lighting Improvements at select Foothill Transit Bus Stops

Timeline of the Project: The project is expected to last from January - July 2026

Important Updates: Regular street sweeping will not take place in the work area during construction hours, so please take note of posted construction parking signage. Work is projected to last through May.

Traffic: Drivers should expect single driving lane of traffic for both east and westbound lanes of Huntington Drive, increased dust and noise, and on-street parking restrictions. For up-to-date traffic updates, please view the Work Around Town Map below.
