Clubs & Activities! 
Older Adults ages 50+ can get involved, make friends, learn, and have fun in many ways, including joining a Senior Club, participating in our varied programming, or even joining us on a trip!
Stop by the Monrovia Community Center on Tuesday & Wednesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. to join a Senior Club!
Please contact Lauren Pagliotti at (626) 256-8225 or by email at lpagliotti@monroviaca.gov to register for these free activities. Registration will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before the program.
Programs are supported by Measure K, the Keep Monrovia Revenues Local Sales Tax Measure. Measure K funds are put towards projects that align with the Monrovia City Council's goals of Financial Management, Infrastructure, Customer Service, and Relationships. Trip Scholarships are available for fee-based excursions for those who qualify.

The Monrovia Senior Clubs meet weekly at the Community Center and are open to all older adults 50 years and older. Activities include monthly guest speakers, health presentations, entertainment, and lunch.

Each year, Older Americans across the nation are recognized for the contributions they make to their communities. Join us for a luncheon to honor and celebrate the Monrovia honorees who dedicated their time and hard work in service to our community throughout 2025.

Senior Lunch Program
The City hosts two separate clubs that meet weekly at the Community Center. The New Horizon Club is offered every Tuesday, and the Gad-A-Bouts Club is every Wednesday. The Senior Lunch Program is provided to active participating club members to ensure they receive a nutritious, warm meal. Lunch is free, but a suggested donation of $2 per meal is requested. Lunch is served approximately at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please call the Monrovia Community Center at (626) 256-8246 for more information.
Co-Mingle Mondays
Join us every Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for our Senior Social Hours! This is the time to socialize with one another, play bingo, and eat lunch! This free drop-in program is open to all older adults 50 years and older. Lunch is free, but a suggested donation of $2 per meal is requested. Lunch is served approximately at 11:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required if you plan on eating lunch. Lunch & Learn
The Monrovia Community Center’s Lunch & Learn program is FREE for all seniors. Seniors are invited to the Community Center on the second Thursday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to enjoy lunch and to be informed on a variety of topics. Each program is open to seniors 50 years and older. Reservations are required by registering online or by calling the Monrovia Community Center at (626) 256-8246.

Food ED for Seniors
The Monrovia Community Center has partnered with Food Exploration and Discovery (Food ED) to provide food educational workshops, including lunch. The Food ED for Seniors Workshop program is offered free to all older adults on the first Friday of each month from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Topics are geared towards adults 50 years and older. Reservations are required by registering online or by calling the Monrovia Community Center at (626) 256-8246.

Food Distribution
Come to the Community Center for our monthly Food Distribution. We will be distributing bags of non-perishable food items beginning at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or until all food products have been distributed. To participate in the program, one of the following requirements need to be met: Monrovia Resident, an Unincorporated area of Monrovia resident, or a New Horizons or Gad-a-bouts Club member. This free drop-in program will be held on the 1st Thursday of the month. For more information, contact the Community Center at (626) 256-8246.

AARP
This eight-hour smart driver course is held at the Monrovia Community Center. The two-day driving safety course focuses on staying safe and confident behind the wheel by providing updates on current road rules, safety driving techniques, and how age-related changes can affect driving. The curriculum features updated law, tips for safe driving, and insights into new vehicle technology. Payment is by check only, made payable to AARP and will be taken on the first day of the class. For reservations, contact the Monrovia Community Center at (626) 256-8246 or for additional information. The course is subject to cancellation.

Senior Stretch
The staff invites active adults to join our weekly senior stretching and exercise class. The class includes stretching techniques geared toward seniors over 50, though the class is great for anyone in need of a good routine. Movement increases the range of motion, and relaxation, and decreases the risk of injury. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. It is recommended to bring a towel and a bottle of water.

Weekly Walkers Club
The Weekly Walkers Club invites you to join in on the regular series of leisurely walks throughout Old Town. The purpose of the Weekly Walkers Club is to increase activity among adults while enjoying all the sights that Old Town has to offer! The Weekly Walkers will meet every Tuesday and Thursday at the Monrovia Community Center. Walks will be approximately 30 minutes. Please wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Come out and enjoy some fresh air and good conversation!

Karaoke Days
Join us for a music-filled afternoon of Karaoke, snacks, and fun! This free drop-in program will be held on the 1st Thursday of the month from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Open to all adults!

Unique Journeys reservations and ticket purchases must be made in advance. Departures for all excursions are from the Monrovia Community Center, unless otherwise noted. Trips are open to anyone 18 and up. A minimum of 15 participants is required and subject to cancelation if participation is not met. Please note, there are no refunds. Unique Journeys Scholarship Application
The City of Monrovia invites everyone to explore, connect, and experience new places while creating lasting memories with us! To help achieve this goal, we have established a Scholarship Program supported by Measure K, the Keep Monrovia Revenues Local Sales Tax Measure. The Scholarship Program is designed to eliminate financial barriers that may prevent individuals from joining us on group trips for sightseeing and connection. This scholarship is available to adults aged 50 and older who reside in the City of Monrovia or Unincorporated Monrovia, or who are members of the New Horizons Club or the Gad-a-Bouts Club. Each eligible individual can receive up to $250 per year to cover trip costs throughout the year. The Unique Journeys Scholarship Application can be found below.

Carlsbad Flower Fields and Shopping Outlets - Thursday, March 19, 2026
Connect with us and nature as we view and explore the transformed rolling hills of North San Diego County with 55 acres of Giant Ranunculus Flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. There are multiple gardens to view, bird aviaries, and a greenhouse. Included in admission is a wagon tour through the radiant rows. There are also snacks and drinks for purchase within the ranch. After viewing the flowers at the Ranch, we will make our way next door to the Carlsbad Shopping Outlets for some food and a little shopping. Lunch will not be provided, but small snacks will be provided on the bus ride. The bus will depart by 8:30 a.m. Please call the Monrovia Community Center for additional information.

Knott's Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival - Friday, March 27, 2026
Join us as we jam out at the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival and have a berry good time! Indulge in a lineup of dishes ranging from savory foods with a boysenberry twist to one-of-a-kind specialty desserts and drinks. In addition to the food and drink offerings, the Boysenberry Festival offers a wide selection of local crafters, live music, musical stage shows, and fun activities for all ages to enjoy. In between enjoying some food and drinks, don’t forget to get on a few rides within the park. A meal will not be provided, but admission and a tasting card are included. Aquarium of the Pacific - Thursday, April 16, 2026
Spend a fun day exploring one of the largest aquariums in the United States, The Aquarium of the Pacific. You will have the opportunity to explore fascinating marine exhibits featuring vibrant marine life from the Pacific Ocean, including sea otters, jellyfish, tropical fish, and more. Enjoy leisurely walks through the aquarium, interactive displays, and beautiful waterfront views. This trip is a great chance to learn something new, connect with friends, and enjoy a relaxing and memorable outing with scenic harbor views. Lunch will not be provided, but there is a cafe inside the Aquarium where you can purchase food. Renaissance Pleasure Faire - Saturday, April 25, 2026
Step back in time and enjoy a day at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire! Wander through a charming village filled with costumed performers, artisan crafts, live music, and theatrical entertainment around every corner. Enjoy jousting tournaments, comedy shows, unique shopping, and a variety of food and refreshments inspired by the Renaissance era. This immersive experience offers a fun and festive day of culture, entertainment, and exploration. Lunch is not included in the ticket price.
